I needed a pair of wireless headphones to help pass the time whilst on the treadmill. I did quite a bit of research and the Saitek a350’s matched my every need. Even so, I was a bit dubious about investing into a reasonably new technology like this. Now I know there was absolutley nothing to worry about. The sound quality is excellent, best I’ve heard on a wireless device.The headphones are so light it’s easy to forget you’re wearing them and 6 hours of battery life is enough to please anyone, whether they’re exercising or just on a long journey. Even if the battery does run out, Saitek have included a 3.5mm audio jack so you can use the headphones wired if you want to. They’re comfortable, but perhaps a bit big, (I have them on the smallest band, and they’re anything but tight.) The transmitter is tiny, and weighs almost nothing, and both the headset and transmitter can be charged simultaneously. Occasionally, you might find they cut out momentarily. I’ve learnt that any obstacles in between the transmitter and reciever can cause quite a bit of interference. Apart from that, there have been no problems whatsoever, wonderful product!

A very good quality product well worth buying if you want wireless headphones. The sound quality beats anything I have used before and the set up is really easy you just switch on and go. I found the in ear headband a little uncomfatable at first but am begining to get used to it. If these turn out to as durable as I believe them to be then this is a well rounded product worth the price.

Customer Review: Disappointing
As the user of an iPod, I was rather disappointed with this software. The main reason is that iTunes, by default, saves files as m4a, which this software won’t shrink. This means that all m4a files have to be converted to mp3 files first, which adds greatly to the time involved. In addition, songs downloaded from the iTunes store cannot be shrunk as they cannot be converted to mp3 as they are protected files. Having said all this, there is little reduction in quality when files have been shrunk, although I should say that I have used the ‘best quality’ setting, rather than the ‘best compression’ setting.
Customer Review: Be certain this is the right product for you.
Whilst there is no question that the product does what it is supposed to do, I found it desperately slow for the number of files I needed to work with. I knew very quickly that it was not for me, thus sought a refund. That’s where the fun starts. The company provide a letter of software destruction that has to be mailed or faxed to them. I completed it dutifully, and sent it off to them. They claim Royal Mail must have lost my letter. The only alternative to mailing is fax, which I haven’t owned in 10 years. I am reluctant to send more letters by mail, given the amount of time and effort I have already wasted. As I write, I still do not have a refund and I really wish I had not bothered.

… and what a photographer! Joe McNally has a well-deserved reputation as a photographer and is only slightly less well known as a teacher. But for those of us on this side of the pond, attending one of his workshops is, let’s face it, financially daunting. No matter. You can buy this book instead! Here is much photographic wisdom in book form - and (unusually, given the subject matter) a book that can make you laugh out loud and yet teach you at the same time. OK, so some of the shots are ones you’d never get to take yourself as an amateur (hanging out of a helicopter over the Hollywood sign with Michelle Yeoh takes some beating, and as for getting to meet Kermit in the flesh…). But then for others you *can* try and emulate, even if you don’t have all of the kit that Joe has available to him. And even if you can’t, well, then, as the publisher’s own blurb says, this book would look equally good on your coffee table.

There are plenty of books that follow a similar format to this. A picture, an anecdote and some information about how the image was taken. Micheal Grecco’s Lighting and the Dramatic Portrait is a good example of this style of book. Those of you expecting detailed recipe’s with lighting diagrams will be disapointed, the technical information is light but gets to the heart photo. This is by no means a criticism, The Moment it Clicks is absolutely jam packed with great photos, entertaining anecdotes and pithy quotes. Joe’s writes as though he’s sitting next to you in a bar, talking in a what I assume is a New York accent, there’s even a chapter dedicated to bar talk. Unfortunately, I’m unable to do accents when I’m reading to myself, so it comes across to me like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, but no matter, every page jumps out at you, and a lot of the insight he dishes out, will stick with you for life. The pictures, as Joe would say, are all shot with available light, any &*%%@^ light thats available, so there’s plenty to excite strobists and strobophobes alike. Did I mention that this book was packed? I have never seen a book of this style so packed with material. I was about half way through the 240 pages and thinking that this was incredibly generous, I would have been satisfied with half the amount of content. The geardos among you will drool over the photos and lists of Joe’s kit, which get a full four pages towards the end of the book and there is a colourful glossary of terms full of explanations of photographic terms and slang, as well as footnotes on the pages where the terms are used. On the whole have been very happy with the machine, agree with the comments on slow start but we are learning to be patient! We haven’t gone too much in to detail but have found one big problem with DVD playback- it doesn’t do Region 2 (which is what Europe comes under). Being not technically minded and checking the manual there doesn’t seem to be any reference to dealing with this. Can anyone tell us how to change this or have we been completely ignorant and not paid attention to the details and it isn’t possible? Just took it for granted that it would automatically play DVDs from UK when we bought it.
Customer Review: freeview - would recommend
Spent ages deciding which DVD recorder player to buy as wanted one which would record freeview while I was also watching freeview. Would definitely recommend this, to record and view another freeview station at the same time you will need a separate digital set top box. Took me a while to work out how to do this as doesnt explain in the manual, but by pressing AV in the TV part of the handset it switches from the DVD freeview to the separate set top box so when recording from the DVD recorder you need to watch through the separate set top box. Also wasnt sure whether to get one with hard drive but am glad I did as don’t have to bother with DVDs. Have option to record from hard drive onto DVD if you wish though - and if you can work out which type of DVD to buy! Really clear screen shows what you have recorded. Can set programmes to record easily by going into TV guide and clicking on the programme you want. A big advantage is that while a programme is recording you can watch it from the start - even while its still recording. So if you have to miss the first part of a programme you can press record then just press play when you are ready to watch, even if its not finished recording the programme. Have had same problem as last reviewer and havent worked out how to set timer on recorder. Tried what it suggested in manual but didnt work. Anybody else had any luck?

Got this product as we have virgin cable and wanted something that could record onto a hard disc, which pretty much rules out everything with a built in freeview tuner. Had the product set up in minutes, plug in the scart from the digi box and the other to the TV and thats it! The recording buffer which automatically records whatever you’re watching is fantastic. Watched a DVD and found that the hard disc had recorded what was on the digi box which was great. Easy to rewind and pause live TV. Fully recommended. Would get 5 stars if I could work out how to set the default channel to the decoder scart! Fantastic.

Have just bought and sadly returned this item today. The built in tuner is analogue only, meaning that it’s not really suitable for me - it needs a separate Freeview box to be able to record channels others than BBC1 - Five. No Electronic Programme Guide means that if you’re after something that can be used like Sky+ with the added benefit of a DVD recorder, you’ve bought the wrong thing!

However if you are thinking of upgrading from the last version, forget about it. I am still trying to find out what is different from the earlier version. I decided to risk buying this microwave after reading all the reviews, but I am really disappointed with the quality. The whole thing just feels so cheap and poorly made compared to my old microwave. It looks great and works well but is just too cheaply made from flimsy materials. The front door should be safely attached to stop radiation leaking. It wobbles on its hinges and has a small gap in the corner and the whole thing is also much nosier than my old microwave. All in all, I do not feel that I am getting my moneys worth with this one and have sent it back.

Mr Kelby proclaims in this book that there are only two occasions when you can take Landscape Images, and its a theme that runs through the book. I have to say, the images in the book are excellant, clearly a man who knows his stuff, and it shows. What did I learn by reading it, not a great deal. OK, as a standard reference book, a book to refer to when your asking “I wonder how to” ?.. I would suggest that this book offers an insight into Mr Kelbys obvious sense of humour, than offer serious solutions or answers that most of us ask from time to time. Buy it, you might enjoy it.
Customer Review: Photography tips you will actually remember - and use
I’ve wasted my money on quite a few photography books in the past. Without fail they’ve sat on the shelf and rarely - if ever - been put to practical use. So, I thought twice before buying this book (and volume 2) by Scott Kelby. However - the layout of this book (one tip per page), and the style of it (doesn’t take itself too seriously) - is tremendously effective in terms of passing on really useful information to the novice photographer. The main difference I’m finding so far with Scott Kelby’s books is that I’m actually remembering the various tips and traps he passes on. Don’t believe me? I shot a pretty good panorama view recently and stitched it together after using just a few tips on panorama pictures in this book. That’s quite a difference in my experience from other books. Inevitably, with a book where the writer makes his personality and humour key to the text, it isn’t going to please everyone. But personally I’m pleased that I bought these books - they’ve really re-kindled my enthusiasm for digital photography, and persuaded me that I can get some good results with a little bit of practice.
