Customer Review: Worth the extra ?20-?40 !!!!
Bought this TV for ?208, others were selling it for between ?220-?260ish. But I’d say its worth paying up to ?250ish, which is about ?20-?40 more than other makes such as Samsung/Toshiba etc… anyway for the quality of the sound and picture on such a small TV its great quality.

The picture is flawless and the sound is rich considering the small size of the TV. Very easy to set uP - Less than 5 minutes!!!

A great TV, always worth going for a Sony.

You get what you pay for. Don’t be tempted by cheaper (inferior) alternatives.

Customer Review: Check This Out ! - Get One For Nothing At All ! - Check This Out ! (B)(B)(C) Approved!

Sony RHT-G800 - Sony Bravia TV Stand With Integrated 5.1 Surround Sound Cinema System

Sony RHT-G800 - Sony Bravia TV Stand With Integrated 5.1 Surround Sound Cinema System
A complete 5.1-channel home cinema surround system built into a high quality TV stand

Customer Review: Sony RHT-G800 Review
I agree with everything that others have said, with the exception of the poor high note quality. Sony seem to have now resolved this problem, I bought my unit in early January 2008. I played my DVD of Carmina Burana with Kathleen Battle singing, at full volume, there was no obvious distortion of her top notes, and the base was very impressive, given the size of the unit. I have given it a four star rating because it can’t be expected to come up to a full Hi Fi standard system, but for someone who doesn’t have a dedicated music/TV room or a wife who wants a conventional sitting room, this has a lot going for it.

I can’t say I noticed much of a surround sound effect, but by positioning it in a corner may not be the ideal location.

I found moving it on a carpet to get at the various connections a problem, in the end I cut a piece of wood about 2 foot in length and used it as a lever, taking care not to put pressure on the speaker units.

The unit looks great in black especially if your TV, Sky Box, DVD Recorder, VCR, and any other bit of kit are also in black.

Customer Review: intermittant sound
I have recently purchaced a Sony RHT G800 (2 weeks ago ) I liked the Idea of no cables and speaker stands all over the place . I opted not to go for the Bravia t.v and went for the Samsung 42″ plasma to compliment the unit . Firstly this is a heavy lump of a unit make sure there are at least 2 people to manouvre into position in your home .Secondly it is very easy to set up and the lack of cables is fantastic . Sound quality is excellent but I am experiencing intermittant sound ,whilst watching a programme the volume cuts off (if you change channel the sound returns) Has any one else experienced similar problems and if so how was it resolved .

Customer Review: STAY AWAY FROM VAIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! +1
Glenn Skow’s post is correct. This problems goes a looong way back and they haven’t(refuse to) corrected it yet. This problem exist with Vaio P4 or other models of VAIO. Yeah, it’s the soldering problem with the SODIMM memory banks which gets broken w/ mobo over time. When that happens, you won’t be able to use the laptop. Sony continues to ignore the problems and pass it on to your pocketbook.
Customer Review: STAY AWAY FROM VAIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please be aware that there is a known defect in the Vaio line. I personally have had direct experience with this having my Vaio die on me as a result of a “cracked motherboard” only 14 months of having it. It is a known defect in the Vaio design. I urge anyone who reads this to be very catious about buying a Vaio and consider an alternative, more reliable computer. “The issue stems from the memory SODIMM slots. The solder joints that connect the SODIMM’s to the motherboard are breaking, causing one or both memory modules not to be polled, or counted, towards total system memory…Sony than charges $700-$1200 to repair it”

Customer Review: Small, Beautiful, Almost Perfect
When you buy a Sony laptop, think two things: Beautiful and expensive. This machine delivers both. When I first opened the small box, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the complete miniturization of everything, including the AC adaptor (thanks Sony!). Even though the keyboard is smaller, I found it comfortable to type on, similar to a Macbook. The screen is gorgeous! This laptop is quiet, thanks to an SSD 32 GB “hard diskless” configuration. This laptop does not generate anywhere the amount of heat I have forcibly had to get used to. It gets warm, but not hot. There’s always a negative with laptops, and with this machine it’s disk space. I’m telling you, they couldn’t fit another third party trial application on this machine. Sony exec are whores. Beautiful and expensive whores, but whores nonetheless. I’m pretty sure I could get my application bundled into the next Vaio if I tried hard enough. Anyway, back to the facts. Start with a 32 GB SSD, which is really 30.7 in real life (nasty little Gigabyte to Megabyte to byte conversion - - - 1024 bytes vs. 1MB - - so you lose 24 bytes per MB in real life). OK, so take off 8 GB off the 30.7 because they don’t include recovery disks, they created a “recovery partition” on the laptop itself, so you’re down to say 22 GB. Vista is a hog, and so MS Office 2007, and so is the biometric fingerprint reader software and so is the adware, the trialware, the multimedia software, the Click to CD software, etc, etc, etc ….. Whew… You’re left with about 8 GB of hard drive space … I don’t know about you and your usage, but 8 GB (to start out with!) is practically nothing. This does not work for me. Maybe it will for you, but not me. So what do you do ……….. Downgrade your new Vaio to Windows XP. Ouch! The Vista screen is so nice and beatiful though. Isn’t this what we paid for? No. We paid to have a small fast beautiful machine. And unfortunately, Vista is just not ready for primetime, therefore, the best move you can make is to go to NotebookReview.com forums reading up and spend a day downgrading your system. Afterwards, everything (well, mostly everything) will work as before, and instead of running into deadends trying to get your old applications to work with Vista, you’ll be with using tried and true, XP, and you’ll have 20 GB of space instead of 8 GB. ** Caution ** - - - remember to create Recovery Disks beforehand (it’s easy and takes 2 DVDs). In conclusion, this machine is sweet, and if you can be happy with not a lotta storage or you can make it through a downgrade, you will love this laptop.
Customer Review: Despite popular belief this subnotebook is best ever..
First of all I was really skeptical on this model, especially when I had just bought the cheaper version TZ150 with 1.06Ghz Core 2 Duo, 1GB RAM and 100GB 4200rpm HDD. I used the TZ150 for approximately 2h trying to remove all the bloatware that Sony decided to install (apparently an issue with all US/NA Sony laptops) and at the end gave up.. Way too slow, to the point it was unusable. Took it back to BestBuy got charged 15% restocking fee and after reading lots of reviews online I decided to order the faster brother TZ190N.. Let me start by saying the 32GB SSD has 0.3ms access time, making it BLAZING fast.. Adobe Photoshop CS3 opens up in 5 seconds flat, Microsoft office 2007 is as fast as on my quad-core desktop and in general the performance boost from the faster processor, faster SSD and 2GB RAM make it amazingly fast and usable.. I recommend doing a clean Vista install to lose all the sony bloatware and install the drivers from Sony’s site. Granted you’ll waste an evening doing that, but your laptop & yourself will thank you.. Amazing battery life, love the keyboard and the screen is gorgeous. I could do with larger SSD but remember this is NOT a desktop replacement and SSD prices are skyrocket high. I’m very very pleased and if I had to chose I’d buy it again!!

Customer Review: Get this stand now!
Even though I run multi-monitor, having my laptop on this stand at the full 35 degree extension is BRILLIANT. Talk about an eye-saver… I’m also able to sit in my chair a bit more “properly.” I also appreciate Rolodex’s inclusion of the rubber cable-organizer that makes hooking up my laptop every morning so much more convenient; I have 8 cables that I’ve got to plug in before powering up and this was a great addition.
Customer Review: Rolodex Laptop Stand
This is a great inexpensive solution for a laptop stand. It is very sturdy with the mesh type bottom allowing good circulation and heat dissipation. The stand adjusts to several different angles, although the lowest one seems most useful. The only real negative I see is that if you use an Apple notebook, one of the front supports is directly in line with the CD/DVD insert slot. You have to move the notebook for disc insertion or ejection.

Sony KDL40V3000 - 40” Widescreen Bravia 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview

Sony KDL40V3000 - 40” Widescreen Bravia 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview
with Integrated Digital Tuner

Customer Review: Great for HD beware SD
This a great TV for PS3 and Bluray stunning picture quality and usual sony quality build. However I will recommend caution if you are only using this for SD viewing the picture quality is not as great as my Hitachi 32 inch LCD probably due to the fact of the larger screen. Some channels fare better than others on my sky + box. Will probably upgrade to sky hd now to get full benefit. With that in mind and the fact that there is no swivel on the stand I will give this 4 stars but would be five if Hd only. Please also be aware that the home delivery network do not deliver weekends despite amazon saying they do.

Customer Review: A 1,400 pound Full HD TV set, from Sony, for 899?? Never I hear you say! Well here it is!!
This TV is a must get if you are preparing for the future digital switch. Not only does it have an inbuilt digital receiver, but it also is Full HD Ready (1080dp). Sony have told me that Full HD is only available in sets that are 40″ or above. The recommended retail price for this item (and this is from Sony) is 1,399 pounds - therefore a TV of this calibre for 899 and from Sony - need I say anything more!! If you are looking to buy a set that is ready for the future, buy THIS ONE! Excellent quality and excellent value for money.

Customer Review: Adequate basic recorder
I was looking for a second entry-level -R/RW recorder, having already got a Funai 2737 (which does the job fine). Decided to try the Toshiba as it had the benefit of Chase Play. In actual fact, this Toshiba seems to be the same underlying chassis as the Funai, with a different (somewhat more attractive) fascia. All rear ports and the user interface are all identical. The only difference is the addition of chase play. If you are drawn to this machine because of this feature then beware. Chase play can only be used when recording in quality setting of long play, or lower. This is tolerable on a small screen TV, but the quality when viewed on a large screen is barely acceptable, more or less making chase play a feature you will never use anyway. Apart from that, the unit looks and works fine, however, it might be worth considering the Funai and saving yourself ?25.
Customer Review: Not a bad machine, just too noisy
This machine has some very good points, but its too noisy to be used in a living room. Ours was RMAed. On the plus side: - Discs are initalised quickly, you can be recording on DVD-R within 20 secs. - The menu system is clear and easy to use - The DVD playing machanism is very quiet, you can’t hear the disc spinning at all - The DVD-R disc recorded played perfectly in Pioneer DVD (Dv464), Argos in Car DVD and PC. - It can play CDs of Jpegs. However the downsides out weight these good features: - Its very noisy, there is case fan at the back, that is always on when the recorder is. Watching Planet Earth with the DVD recording is, unconfortable, there is a constant whiring. Its 3 or 4 times noisyer than my AV reciever and I thought that was noisy! - remote control is “boxy” and square, hence unconfortable in the hand. - DVD-R take a LONG time to finalise, over 20 Mins. - It cannot play DVD-R discs of photo JPEGs burnt on my PC, that my Pioneer DVD player plays fine. Hence only 3 stars I’m afraid ….

Customer Review: Not happy at all
I bought this tv for ?628′99 delivered on 07/01/08. Two days later it developed a thin blue verticle line down the left hand side of the screen that just did not dissapear. I phoned Sony on 10/01/08 and they said no problem , faulty unit we will tell amazon to swap it for you as it is in the 7 day warranty period. I have today 13/01/08(and not a week old) received a mail from amazon telling me they will gladly refund me as they are out of stock…. NO THEY ARE NOT ! The t.v’s have risen in price since I bought it to ?899.00 Check for yourself and they don’t want to lose money.. My fault or theirs? Definately theirs … MORAL Don’t buy a thing off these people , they rip you off like all the rest!

Customer Review: Excellent - well worth it
We bought this tv at the turn of the new year from a sony centre (sorry amazon!) to replace a phillips tv that had gone wrong not even 4 weeks after we bought it - phillips were fantatsic about it and even gave us a number to take to the dealer so they would give us the money back for it, Not wanting to risk it happening again we opted for a sony as our last tv we were replacing was a sony trinitron 10 years old and still going strong; it was just starting to show its age being a big and bulky (not to mention VERY heavy) corner piece. The sony shows far sharper and clearer pictures than any other (or at least the same spec phillips we had before) Hi-Def tv, the bravia brand is worth the claims it makes 10/10, teamed up with blu-ray it blows you away. sony is a brand you can trust to deliver time and time again, theyve worked hard to get to the top, they definately deserve to stay there

Customer Review: I wrote for a photographic trade association magazine….
I mean on a regular basis for some years, I also ran courses and lectured on B-Tec photographic moving image modules. To me, when I look at the pictures on large screen high resolution monitors - I see great pictures most of the time - HOWEVER, like many good cameras, especially if they’re high-definition or for professional and broadcast work, there are quite a few adjustable variables on the Casio. And if you haven’t downloaded the 150 page plus manual from the website, let me start by saying there are 38 easy select shooting modes including moving pictures with sound that it saves in AVI format. There are 14 different menus for recording including manual & auto focus, timer, anti-shake etc.. 15 menus for quality, white balance, dynamic range, colour filter, sharpness, saturation & contrast. With screen sizes you can go from Poster at 3648×2736 pixcels, to 16:9 and down to vga that’s 640×480. Of course the better the quality you select the more memory you use up with larger file sizes, so dodgy pictures might come from trying to get too many shots onto your memory card. I’d get 309 shots poster size in highest quality and 14,165 shots at 640×480 in economy mode, with 432 in 16:9 high res on my simple 2gb card. Surely there’s something for everyone there? Yes it is small, and although I haven’t got one it does look as through it would fit in a Swan Vesta’s matchbox. For me it’s excellent, and has a better spec than some of the more expensive cameras - but at the end of the day there are an awful lot of things to do to get better pictures yourself - and if you can’t hold a camera still, there is a tripod screw thread in the bottom, no I’m not saying get a tripod, but you could do what a neighbour did to use his camera in his garden, he got an adaptor, screwed that in, and rests the bottom of the adaptor on a garden cane! Oh and for the person that couldn’t find the zoom button it’s the small lever that goes left or right just in front of the shutter button. Get snapping!
Customer Review: 10 MP clearup
Hi there i dont actually have one of these, but my best friend does and they’re really good. Lots of people have been saying the picture quality is no where near 10MP, well actually its all in the optix. It could be 20MP, but if it had rubbish optix then the quality wouldn’t be that good. you just need to fiddle with the settings, chose the right mode for whatever picture you’re trying to take, and just not be so finnicky - after all, its a great camera. And excellent value for money.
