Sony Bravia KDLS-32A12U 32″ Widescreen HD Ready WXGA LCD TV with Freeview
Customer Review: Excellent choice for your entry into HDTV viewing
I’ve been looking for a decent LCD TV for a while now and with things starting to move towards HDTV-readiness, I had a long list of things that needed to be satisfied - this covered every base brilliantly.
My previous TV was a 28″ Samsung CRT which I’ve always loved but it was time to move on. The jump to 32″ LCD in itself is really noticable, but the real difference is in the actual picture quality - wow - analogue tv looks a little rough if I’m honest but the digital tuner built into this TV brings TV up a gear. I had a standalone digibox before the new tv but the picture quality direct on the Bravia is a lot better.
I haven’t yet been able to view any HDTV content on the TV, but my DVD player has progressive scan which I’ve hooked up via component cables and the picture is much much better. Get to close to the TV and things just don’t look right but take a few staps backwards and the new found clarity is obvious.
I’ve heard talk of ghosting with LCD TV’s but the Bravia picture is faultless with an 8ms response.
Finally, setup is really easy. Takes 5 minutes to search channels and you’re done, couldn’t be more simple.
If you want a high quality TV, this is the best of the bunch from the research I did and now that I own one, I agree with all that I’ve read - the Bravia is excellent!
Customer Review: Amazing TV
Wow! This is a superb TV. The colours are really sharp and the sound quality is excellent. You can see the picture clearly from almost every angle and I cannot see any problems with black as stated in another review. There are plenty of sockets on the back of this TV which cover every eventuality you could possibly think of. The TV is solid and sturdy, although a little heavy: ideally you need two people to move this beast. The TV takes seconds to tune itself. When you change channel the TV’s default setting is to auto resize pictures to fill the screen. There is a handy info panel that pops up for a few seconds showing what program is on, even in an advert break, when you are channel hopping. I definitely have no regrets about buying this TV.

Customer Review: Over-rated and very annoying to use
This is my 5th dvd player having previously used 2 Pioneer DVD-Rs, a Mitsubishi Black Diamond and a Chinese generic brand. All the ratings and mags rave about Panasonics, but this machine has been disappointing. I use this side-by-side with a Pioneer DVD-R and am consistently unimpressedd. The upscaled picture is not what I expected - I run DVDs through my old Pioneer using component cables and it is better than the Panasonic though the HDMI. The on-screen menus are horrible - very hard to follow and not intuitive at all. It takes forever to do anything like editing a recording, or trying to record from HDD to DVD. The Pioneer is much clearer and easier to use - a real delight of sensible design. The controller is also awful - very clunky and stiff. Buttons often do not respond until they have been depressed firmly for the 10th time. It takes ages to do anything using the controller as it is so poor. It is also very badly set out and requires constant reference to the guide book to know what to do. It is also unattractive to look at, though this is a minor point, but is consistent with the poor design throughout.
Customer Review: Remember playback
I love many features on this recorder the hard drive is brill, I have a few problems though but a no one has mentioned them so am not sure if it is just me not able to find them. This machine always starts a DVD from the beginning it does not remember where I was up to some machines remember the last 20 DVDs that were played so when you put them in it starts where you left off and gives you the option to go to the start if you wanted to. I can’t find how to turn on the VPS/PDC, I find the manual not very good not as good as the recorder.

Customer Review: Hugely Disappointing…
Purchased this unit 4 months ago and was very pleased with it: multi-region, great design, easy to use, large storage capacity. In the last 6 weeks the unit has gone from occasionally rejecting dvd-r/rws, to rejecting all blank dvds (of many varieties), to the point where it cannot even read pre-recorded dvds (and makes a horrible noise when doing so). While the hard drive still works a system error also occurs every few days. Have contacted Samsung, who were not helpful in the slightest. After a good start this product has become very disappointing. Other buyers beware that although a great unit, its longevity is dubious. At ?200+ buyers should expect more.
